In 1997 I retired and moved to Knoxville, Tennessee and began my
career as a ceramic artist. Although I have studied with many regional
artist, most of my work has been self-directed. Focusing on "Raku
Firing" as a direction for my work has been an especially enjoyable
process. I have expanded this to include horse hair firing.
Recently, my interests have expanded to exploring new methods in
photography and digital imaging. I call my work "Photo Illustration."
My art has evolved from photography-based work to using photography as
an element in digital collage. I use photography, digital brush work,
and color manipulation, among other techniques, to create truly
integrated digital "Photo Illustrations".
I am a member the Foothills Craft Guild, ETACA and former member the
Board of the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists. My work can be
seen in galleries in Tennessee and North Carolina.
