I believe art should be fun and beautiful and touch the viewer's soul
in some way. My current work is based on nature forms and leaf prints,
but my true love is pattern and color. Patterns made by the veins in
leaves, branches against the sky, and bark peeling off a tree trunk
inspire me.
I love decorating papers for use in collage. I use leaf prints,
watercolor and acrylic paints, fabric dyes, stamping, and other means
to make the collage papers. I have carved or designed many of my own
stamps. Bird images and twigs also find their way into my
work.
I make cast paper leaves, using real leaves as the mold. This is a
process which I have developed and refined over several years
time.
My art involves many layers and many parts and pieces. I never throw
anything away; someday it will find a home. The most energizing thing
about the creative process is the chain reaction of one idea leading
to another.
